Growing up in Dublin, Karl spent 90% of his time in a swimming pool, but after 11 years spent training and competing at national level, he realised that he didn’t have as much talent as Michael Phelps (unfortunately), so he decided to follow a different path.

Deep in the recession in 2010 Karl graduated from UCD with a BSc in Economics and Sociology. With jobs at a premium, he decided to gain some real-world experience and exposure. Getting his first job working for a small Irish Water Company, travelling around Ireland selling water to golf club pros (getting the odd free round along the way). He then fell into recruitment. Instantly realising he has a real passion for recruitment, and thoroughly enjoys representing great clients and awesome candidates. Advising them on incredible jobs and being part of their future successes. This is where Karl met Matthew, his then manager and recruitment mentor.

Karl then joined a start-up recruitment company in Dublin, where he spent 6 years building up the Data, BI, and Analytics division from scratch. Developing long-lasting meaningful relationships with clients and candidates along the way.

In 2018, he teamed up with Matthew, once again, and Talentspot was born. Commencing the next chapter of his journey.
