As a Senior Specialist in WAN Operations, your role will involve ensuring the alignment of internally and externally sourced IT services within the WAN domain. You will be responsible for meeting business needs, adhering to customer Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and to industry best practices. In this role, your responsibilities will encompass:
• Managing operations, including incident and problem triage across the connectivity services portfolio, irrespective of the location or reporting structure of the underlying technology components, processes, or professional capabilities. Technologies include SIS, Network Control, WAN, LAN, Video and Voice.
• Acting as the representative for the service across the organisation, overseeing and contributing to changes, and serving as a key stakeholder in processes that support or enable the service.
• Collaborating with process owners throughout the service lifecycle, acquiring necessary information, and assisting in defining or redefining processes.
• Demonstrating a deep understanding of the service, including its components and processes, and providing relevant information as required.
• Managing services provided to both internal and external consumers within and beyond the department. Contributing to decisions regarding the addition, modification, freezing, or discontinuation of services within your purview.
• Managing the processes and resources involved in service delivery, actively participating in the service delivery team, and coordinating planning activities, issue resolution, and overall service delivery.
• Ensuring the comprehensive coordination of all components that support services, which includes SLAs, Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), and Underpinning Contracts (UCs).
• Regularly monitoring, reviewing, and reporting service performance against SLAs/OLAs and the broader service portfolio.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
• 7+ years in IT, including a strong command of ITIL methodologies.
• Proven management experience of at least 5 years within a matrix organization, successfully leading complex teams comprising multiple vendors.
• 5+ years’ experience in managing services, with a focus on overseeing service portfolios on a global or regional scale across diverse geographical locations and business domains.
• In-depth expertise in one or more IT disciplines and a comprehensive understanding of other IT domains. Strong knowledge of the interplay between business and IT processes.
• Experience in negotiating agreements with corporate suppliers in close collaboration with the sourcing function. A track record of delivering multinational projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
• Strategic thinking capabilities and a proven ability to develop and execute service delivery strategies for service portfolios advantageous.
