2 X Data & Insights Analysts – Hybrid Dublin/Remote

Permanent Role

Talentspot is working exclusively with our end-user customer who are a market leader in their field and a very well-known brand in Ireland and across Europe. They provide technology led solutions and services and have annual revenues in Ireland of several hundred million euros.
This genuinely dynamic business is continuing to invest in their analytics and insights capabilities with the goal of unlocking actionable insights, to continuously improve customer experience. To support this, they have created brand-new positions for two Data & Insights Analysts.
They have engaged Talentspot to assist them in this search for two data analysts who’ll bring a blend of technical and functional expertise, excellent people skills, critical thinking, and a hunger to learn about this industry. And within that, how data-led insights can enhance customer experience to ultimately drive greater value.

Responsibilities:

As a Data and Insights Analyst you will work as part of a small team of data analysts, reporting into the Data and Insights manager. You will be focused on delivering actionable insights and analytical models to their commercial, strategy and finance domains. You will work closely with colleagues at all levels including senior stakeholders (up to Director and C-suite) such is the reach of the Data & Insight function.

You’ll lead initiatives to deep dive analyses of trends across their business and how those influence key metrics such as:
- Acquiring the right customers
- Enhancing value
- Improving customer retention
- Enhancing services to reduce the cost of servicing customers

You will be in an important position, supporting the Data and Analytics Manager, assisting in delivering a roadmap and pipeline of analytical solutions.

Projects start with a question and you’ll ascertain what data’s needed to help answer that question. You will then design and build the solution (including the data files or the presentation layer). You’ll analyse what the data’s saying and decide on the best way to communicate your insights. You will also consider if there’s value in productionising your solution to provide ongoing insights. Projects typically run for 2 – 3 days, but can be longer.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3-4 + years’ Python and Power BI
  • Strong SQL skills for data manipulation, query writing, and comfortable developing database and data model prototypes and PoCs
  • Highly desirable to have Snowflake and exposure to working in Cloud-based data solutions (AWS/GCP etc.)
  • Ability to ‘see the data’ and be a skilled data ‘story-teller’ - able to translate the value of the data to both technical and non-technical people, bringing people on an end-to-end data and insights journey
  • Ability to create a data and insights message, break that down and keep that message alive to the right audiences across the organisation
  • At least 3- 4+ years’ commercial experience in analytics roles, running data analysis projects to drive actionable insights
  • A history of delivering value in a fast-moving environment, able to show impact on day-to-day performance as well as longer-term data and insights planning and strategy
  • Able to understand, utilise and articulate complex analytical techniques
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of analytical techniques that are applicable to a customer centric enterprise. Such as propensity modelling and segmentation techniques, analysis of variance, regression analysis and conjoint analysis.

Additional Skills and Experience:

  • A passion for finding the most valuable question to answer and the confidence to influence the question
  • You will be a commercially driven data and insights analyst with a passion for achieving business outcomes through actionable insights
  • You will enjoy bringing non-technical decision makers on a new insights journey and seeing how your contribution is enhancing colleagues’ data-driven decision making and customer value
  • Intellectual curiosity: interested in spotting problems and solving issues
  • Proactive and keen to work with a reasonable level autonomy
  • Graduate or postgraduate qualification in a quantitative/numerical field (Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics etc.)
