A new opportunity has arisen for an AWS Principle Cloud Architect. In this hands-on role you will lead the design, thought leadership, and Cloud strategy to help take Cloud infrastructure, Security and Product to the next level. Another key aspect of your role will be to provide technical leadership, direction, mentoring, and resource and delivery management to your team, consisting of AWS Architects, DevOps, and DevSecOps Engineers.

You will need to be from an infrastructure or development (or both) background with a passion for overseeing the design and build of elegant, re-usable, scalable, and secure AWS solutions, all to Amazon Web Services WAF.

- Own the team's technical output and keep the team moving in the right direction
- Act as a Design Authority on final decisions
- Contribute to Cloud roadmap and tool/services selection
- Hands-on design and build; you will be writing code and reviewing the code of others
- Appetite to work on multiple projects and complex challenges
- Encourage AWS best practices and use of Amazon's Well-Architected Framework

Skills and Experience:

  • 5 + years’ hands-on enterprise scale AWS Solution Architecture expertise, ideally with AWS certifications and commercial experience of working to WAF principles
  • Technical and people leadership along with mentoring of other AWS Architects
  • Experience owning, setting and delivering on AWS cloud strategies and influencing senior technologists and stakeholders on design and tool choices
  • AWS mass-migration and full end-to-end product lifecycle expertise
  • A passion for automation from successfully leading automation programs
  • Ability to work closely with development teams, understand their needs and contribute to their success with Cloud tools and services that enhance their world
  • IaC, Agile, Microservices, Serverless Computing and orchestration experience
  • Security, Permissions and policies - Security best practices, Managed Source Control, unified tools for managing Cloud services
  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD and Cloud operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A passion for industry-leading, best-practice-based AWS architecture
  • A hunger to keep up to date with AWS products and its road-map along with third-party tools and services
  • AWS Solution Architect Professional certification (preferred but not essential)

You must already be able to live and work in Ireland.
