Senior Data Architect

We have partnered with an innovative and truly transformative technology company that is looking for a Senior Data Architect to join their data team. Your role will be leading the design, build and delivery of an innovative data platform that the data science team can leverage for ML and AI work. You will be providing technical leadership, while managing and mentoring a small team. 

Your day to day:

• Lead the design and delivery of innovative data solutions in a greenfield site, using the latest services from the Azure eco-system.
• Apply industry best practices and your experience to create a data platform to enable business growth and furthers the companies’ data science capabilities.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to collect and document technical requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and management to a small data engineering team.

Experience required:

• 3 - 5 + years’ experience as a Data Architect, you ideally have have some experience in working on greenfield sites and building brand new data platforms from scratch.
• 2-3 + years’ experience with Azure. My client is open to considering AWS or GCP experience as well. Azure Data Certification would be a plus.
• Experience with Data Warehouse design and Kimball methodology
• ETL experience working with SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or Airflow.
• Experience working with SQL Server, SQL Data Warehouse / Azure Synapse and/or Azure Data Lake.
• SQL server schema design and optimization to meet performance requirements
• Python programming for data engineering and clean up. Spark/Databricks experience will be a plus
• Experience of working with Power BI or Streamlit, and ideally have some DAX programming experience.
