Lead Data Product Enterprise Architect

Global End-User

Talentspot have partnered with a very well-known global end-user who are looking to fill a brand new position within their Data practice (of 20 people).

The way they now gather, structure and consume data has been so transformative, this is almost a greenfield opportunity; where you will grow a new team of Data Architects (within a larger data practice) to help you design and build this company’s enterprise-scale data future to help achieve business goals.

You will need 8-10+ years’ experience in Data Architecture having also worked in an enterprise scale (ideally global) organisation as a Data Architect Lead/Principle/Manager/Data Product Manager/Practice Manager, ideally having had responsibility for generating internal project demand.

It will be your choice to be hands-on or not; but should you wish, the opportunity is there to build PoCs and prototypes.

Skills And Experience Required

As the soft skills are of such high importance, we’ll start here.

  • You will own the Enterprise Data Architecture strategy, so you will need to already have strategic experience at this level. You will need to demonstrate that you’re adept at predicting 3 – 5 years into the future, spotting gaps and opportunities to help shape architectural decisions and drive solution/technical choices for future business needs.
  • You will need to be an excellent, confident communicator and negotiator, who’s able to help guide, influence and win-over C-suite stakeholders, securing project budgets from the CFO of a multibillion dollar enterprise. You will be good at demonstrating the business value of your strategy and data products and showcasing this by not only creating the message, but also keeping the communication going to keep your messages alive.
  • You will need to think like an architect: our customer referenced the need to be curious, persuasive, creative and tenacious multiple times, to emphasise the importance here along with a track-record of seeing solutions through to delivery.
  • You will need to have recruited and led Data Architects (it’s expected that you’ll hire two initially to deliver on current plans
