Joining a well-respected and high-growth Irish tech start-up you will be responsible for managing and developing a team of 5-6 engineers, responsible for all platform and new feature development. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days a week in the office in Dublin City Centre.
How you contribute:
- Provide technical leadership to the team being hands-on from time to time, leading by example fostering a culture where great engineering practices and processes are used.
- Sync in with your team for weekly 1-1’s, giving feedback and direction to ensure their continual learning and personal and professional growth.
- Build a diverse team and nurture an open culture that will include 360-style feedback.
- Create and promote an environment that is inclusive for all and where your engineers can thrive.
- Feedback to the CTO and CPO on things that are going well, things that are not and areas for improvement.
- With the CTO you will be responsible for hiring and developing future engineering team members.
Your experience:
- 2+ years as a people manager, with a passion for leading people and nurturing engineering talent.
- 4 - 5+ years’ experience as a software engineer, with recent in-depth development experience.
- Proven track record working in engineering teams that deliver scalable and complex services
- Experience with Git and modern development tools and workflows like RSpec, CI/CD, docker and GitHub/GitLab.
- Solid understanding of software architectures, data structures, problem-solving and complexity analysis.
- Experienced working in AWS or other cloud-based environments.
