Data Analyst

You’ll become the data expert, working with the business to understand their requirements, building reporting or data solutions to fulfil those needs. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of a newly built centralised data repository (CDR), working alongside the Data Architect to help in high level design for any future enhancement, modifications, or new initiatives.

What you will do:

• Support the data architect in the high-level solution design.
• Design, build and maintain prototype data solutions to meet the needs of the business.
• Understand the business meaning and importance of data, its definition, lineage and consumption in the form of reporting, analysis or predictive modelling.
• Translate business requirements into effective, structured and consumable functional requirements.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure thorough understanding of the business and system process and data they generated.
• Engaging with source system SME’S to better understand the system & requirements.
• Work alongside underwriters and analysts, reviewing data for accuracy.
• Have some knowledge of process and products and which analyses, methodologies and approaches best support assessment of performance, risk, or valuation.

What you will need:

• 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a data analytics field.
• Proficiency in SQL essential.
• Expert knowledge of BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SAS etc.
• Knowledge of SAS, Python, R, or similar analytical software.
• Experience in driving reporting improvements and technology implementations in support of business analytics.
• Experience  preparing MI reporting packs for management review.
• Ideally have some experience in preparing compliance reports for regulatory meeting.
• Strong excel skills are required.
• Experience in reconciling large volumes of data within complex data sets.
